Erika & Dirk’s Wedding

Everything I love about photographing weddings can be found is in these photos. I love capturing the beautiful colors, the joy, the adorable couple, the beautiful scenery, and most of all, the love surrounding Erika and Dirk. There’s so many things that make them unique and I was honestly pretty nervous being tasked to capture everything. When you photograph a wedding of two amazingly creative people, the pressure to perform seems to be higher. I think it’s because you know how talented they are, and therefore you want to match their talent. See for yourself just how creative Dirk and Erika are! The other photographer helping me capture this day was the amazing Chris Zuppa, and keeping up and trying to match Chris’s eye and work ethic was a challenge as well. It made us a great team. Looking back, despite the self imposed pressure, this will go down as one of my favorite weddings I’ve ever photographed. I’m extremely grateful to Erika and Dirk for trusting Chris & I, and to all the amazing vendors that helped us along the way. Special thanks to Delaney at Wilder Mind Events, who ensured that this wedding ran smoothly and seamlessly. Congratulations Dirk, Erika, and the entire 8th Avenue gang. You’ve raised the bar high! I’ve never seen Poynter so fun! Maybe there’s a repeat flip cup game to be had with the journalism elders someday? :)
