These are pages where I served as the advisor to the staff at WKU Herald. Through my advising, I was able to teach the students why the choice of visuals for their pages were important. I helped them guide the choices as well as helping the designers ensure the pages are well designed.
Why strong picture editing can make all the difference.
With strong photo editing, there is no limit to the effects that can be brought about in a photograph. We live in an incredibly visual society with multiple things trying for our attention. Thus the importance of picture editing that not only catches your attention, but brings context and understanding to the story and keeps the reader engaged and wanting more.
Digital Picture Editing
In my former role at the Tampa Bay Times, I often sat on the picture editing desk during evenings and on weekends. While that work is no longer live because the paper moved platforms and lost the content, you can see my work in advising students in their picture editing on the Herald’s website.
